#ThrowBackThursday

Once upon a time, a girl with a crochet hook and a dream started a business.  Then the internet came along and that business jumped online.

I was doing some decluttering on my computer and I came across some old pictures from the beginning of my online journey.  I found one of my original logos, and a couple original product pictures.  How sad those product pictures are!  Hahaha!

I started with a blog over on the Blogger platform, and then started selling on Ebay.  That is back when Paypal was just becoming popular and actually took checks for orders.  I didn’t get started on Etsy until around 2010.

My how things have changed!  It’s fun to look back at this.  Do you have a Throwback Thursday post?  I’d love to check it out!  Leave a comment below with your Throwback story, or link to your Throwback post.

The Sun! The Sun!!

Hooks

FINALLY getting some dry weather.  I’m getting outside to tackle yard work that has been neglected because of all the rain. Can’t sell the house with an ugly yard, right? Plus I just love playing in the dirt gardening.  What are you up to today?  Let me know!

Until next time, stay inspired and be crafty!

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all who are celebrating!  Wishing my mom a Happy Mother’s Day in heaven.  This is the last picture I took of her celebrating her last birthday.  It’s been ten years since she left us and she is missed.

Mom

I will be enjoying Mother’s Day with my handsome baby boy.

Living among the Amish we get to enjoy all their spring farm babies too!

What’s your favorite memory of your mom, or being a mom?  My mom was one of my creative influences… it’s her passion for crochet that got mine started.

Until next time, stay inspired and be crafty!

It’s Monday

What kind of Monday are you having?

I’m struggling with mine.  More coffee.  And a kick in the hiney.

AnnRe’s Etsy Picks – Rain Edition

It’s raining today.
Soggy, dreary, damp, gray.

rainy

Might as well have some fun with it, huh?  So today’s Etsy picks might have rain in mind, but they’re sure to brighten your day.

Let’s go!

etsyrainguageMy first pick today is from the Etsy shop Naturally Unique (Naturallyuniquerock). They make “Functional Rock Creations from Lake Superior” and my pick is a rain gauge.  If it’s going to rain, might as well know how much you’re getting, right?  Made with a rock base and wrapped in copper wire, this rain gauge is a great find for your favorite gardener or weather buff.

etsyrainperfumeMy second pick is from Skin Like Butter (SkinLikeButter), luxury bath and body products.  I love the smell of fresh rain, how about you?  I know it’s hard to buy perfume online, I get that.  This cute roll on “Rain” scented perfume for $8.50 is the perfect size and price to try.  Even better, she offers samples sets so you can smell them all first before choose the one you want.

etsyrainchainNext pick is from Steel Ribbons (steelribbons), modern metal art that is as functional as it is beautiful.  I’ve always been fascinated by wind chimes and rain chains, and as a gardener I’m always looking for something interesting for my yard.  Rain chains are an old fashioned, decorative way to channel rain and they make a beautiful water feature for yards and gardens.  I’ve seen them made with wood, glass, but the simplicity and design of this rain chain is just stunning!

retromugSince I love coffee, I couldn’t resist picking a rainy themed mug.  I found one from Retro Rocket Antiques (RETROROCKETANTIQUES). This vintage mug has an adorable picture on the front and on the back reads “a friend is someone who lends you an umbrella on a rainy day.”  Awww!  Fill me up, buttercup!

moneyboxLast pick for today is from Pretty Whittle Things (PrettyWhittleThings). Everyone needs to save for a rainy day, right?  How clever to have such a great looking money box to do it with?  The window on the front lets you see just how big your fund is getting.  What will YOU do with your rainy day fund?

I hope you are staying dry and you enjoyed today’s Etsy picks.   I’m going to put on my rain boots and jump in some puddles.  Ok, maybe I won’t jump, but I’ll certainly walk in them.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Until next time, stay inspired and be crafy!
